Security Concierge

This role is responsible for maintaining a safe, welcoming, and secure environment within the theatre and its public spaces. Key duties include providing guidance and assistance to visitors and staff, ensuring customer comfort and wellbeing, and delivering excellent service while managing enquiries. A strong security presence is required to deter crime, address anti-social behaviour, and uphold venue safety through monitoring, locking up duties, and supporting emergency evacuation procedures—all carried out with professionalism and a customer-focused approach.

This security role requires strong communication skills, proven experience in a customer-focused environment, and essential qualifications including a valid SIA Door Supervisor badge and a standard DBS check. Ideally, candidates will also bring additional strengths such as holding a Personal Licence, first aid training, proficiency in British Sign Language, and knowledge of fire evacuation procedures and protocols.

Evening and weekend work will be required.

Job Title: Security Concierge

Contract Type: Fixed term to March 2027, annualised

Pay: £9,828 per annum (Assistant 3)

Hours: 780 hrs per annum, average 15 hrs p/wk

Holidays: 25 days per year plus bank holidays, rising to 30 days plus bank holidays with continuous service pro rata.

Location of Work: The Rep, Birmingham
